Southwestern Vermont

Champlain Canal, New York

Worcester, NY

Our departure was delayed as we had to have a tire checked. When Roland was checking air pressure last night, he realized a truck tire was unusually low. Although it held air overnight, we decided to err on the side of caution. He found a tire center nearby. Sure enough, it had a small screw in it. It was 11 before we left the campground.

Well...our journey is coming to a close. We only have travel days ahead of us. Traveling south from Colchester, VT (north of Burlington) to NY is not on interstate after the first hour. We chose to travel south on Hwy 22A and then Hwy 4 to exit VT in the southwestern corner. From Hwy 4 we picked up Hwy 149 to access I-87 outside of Lake George. It was only 100 miles to I-87 but it took us 3 hours. The drive was lovely as we passed through rural areas. The drive was through the Lake Champlain Valley. As we were traveling on 149 we realized we would pass the campground we used back in June while in Lake George. We made a full circuit! From I-87 we made our way to I-88.
