September 14, 2018

Hard to believe we have been gone 30 days and driven 5,000 miles! For the most part our Canadian camping experience has been quite good. Bob continues to be pissed about having to pay $.25 for a shower minute (sometimes 2 minutes). I don’t think it is about the money rather getting people to limit their shower time.

Perfect fall day and we are taking it easy. We drove to the main Cavendish beach which is within the PEI National Park and didn’t have to pay entrance as the season is over. There were a number of people who planned to spend the day on the beach and others like us who would ride bikes or walk the many trails. We walked along the red sandstone cliffs and sand dunes for a little over an hour and continued our sightseeing driving along Gulf Shore Highway to North Rustico Harbor. There we opted to have lunch instead of dinner at the Blue Mussel Café. We surprisingly found a parking space in this small harbor. Folks were lined up out the door but we got in within 10 minutes. Luck is with us today. We shared the classic PEI mussels which were delicious. Bob had a scallop/bacon linguine and I had housed smoked salmon on homemade focaccia with cucumber and dill sauce. Both were excellent and ambience wonderful.

Surprisingly, this little village had a self-car wash near camp that allowed Bob to wash the rig. While Bob washed the rig I did laundry so we are now squeaky clean.

We are so full from lunch that we will snack for dinner. We did get some good bread at a small bakery in town.

Tomorrow we are off to Halifax and hope the weather holds.
