August 6th to the 12th
Bill, Wendy, Chal ( Bill’s sister and her husband) and I watched the dark clouds roll across the western sky from the deck at the cottage but we did not get any rain. In fact this is probably one of those rare weeks when it threatens rain and thunderstorms but only a few drops fell. Our days here have included all the things you would expect at a cottage. A trip into Barry’s Bay to grocery shop and look in the local shops ( including a new pair of shoes at Afelski’s and a new sun shirt for Bill), barbecues, lots of lake swimming (the water must be over 80 F because it barely feels wet to the skin)…a gathering with all the cousins who happen to be up (we are all 65 to 78 now but we remembered when we were much younger!) A trip to the Wilno Tavern for dinner, and Fluffy Peach Pancake a feature breakfast at the cottage when the girls were young, stunning sunsets over Round Lake, work on a new deck and hauling all the accumulated garbage to the dump. It was a perfect week!
