Arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday afternoon and temperature was in the low 40's.
Today's high is only 45. The city is still very hazy from a recent sand storm and the dust in the air is apparently keeping it a bit cooler than what it would have been otherwise.
Visited the Grand Mosque this morning. This mosque was built only 10 years ago and is magnificent. If you look at the photo's, it is not a fault with the camera - it's just that the dust in the air makes it hard to distinguish the building from the sky. Glenda had to wear a full head to toe outfit over her clothes so really felt the heat.
We then used a taxi to do a tour of the city highlights. In some places you could barely see the other side of the road for the dust.
Our holiday is now just about over. We leave tomorrow and arrive home early Wednesday morning. After today we are really looking forward to Melbourns 11 degrees and drizzle.
