White Pass RR trip

We spent the day in Skagway. We went downtown this morning checking out the town and this afternoon we went on the White Pass and Yukon railroad excursion. It was an enjoyable trip.

The railway was constructed in 1898-1900 and runs along the original miner trail toward the Klondike gold fields. It was constructed in 26 months by 35,000 workers. There were 35 workers that lost their lives in the effort.

Tomorrow morning we plan on going to church here in Skagway, then heading down to the the ferry for passage to Haines.
