Historic Spot in the Park

We planned to spend the night in Fresno and we were unable to find a room. We checked at three different places. Must have been a big deal going on in Fresno this weekend. We also checked into the nearby town of Clovis. I am sure there may have been places available, but we do have to remain budget conscious. There is a limit. Besides, I just want to rent a room, not buy it!!

So, we moved a little distance down the road to the big city of Hanford, California. Tired from the trip, we did nothing except spend the night in the Comfort Inn.

After leaving Mammoth, we saw even more beautiful scenery. The route took us through the Tioga Pass (CA Hwy 120) that passes through Yosemite National Park. We did not go into the Valley since we plan on coming to visit in about a week or so.

It is a really scary drive for one that does not enjoy heights. Those are some sharp curves on steep narrow roads. It is a long, long, long way down just 6 inches the other side of that little white line on the right side of the road!

But, the view makes the drive worth the sheer panic I experienced.
