May 21st to June 7th

We left Visalia this Sunday Morning the 21st and arrived at the Park of the Sierras in the afternoon at 1pm, you ask why is this important well the park is a gated community and the office closes at noon, we got in as someone leaving allowed us to enter now supposedly Barb was informed of all this but anyway we are here and settled in for 2+ weeks about 25 miles away from the south gate of Yosemite NP.

Monday the 21st we went into the park and drove to Yosemite Valley witch is another 35 miles once inside the entrance but well worth the drive as the scenery is breath taking. We saw the Bridal Vale falls from an over view called the tunnel viewing area. After a long day in the car we got home in time for cocktails and a late dinner tomorrow will be a rest day before heading back into the park for more exploration.

Weds the 23rd we returned to the park and got a close up view of the Bridal vale falls raincoats were mandatory as the spray was like a heavy mist reminds me of Niagara Falls. Lots of people and traffic but we had a good day touring the park. We hiked into the swing bridge, Mirror Lake and the falls a long day but well worth the visit.

Weds the 30th we drove into the park to Glacier Point spectacular views this was out last trip into the park. We did make a trip into Bass Lake a beautiful big lake in the foothills of Yosemite had a nice lunch with a view of the lake and then a trip back to the RV. We were in close proximity of a casino so we did visit a few times to help the local economy. We enjoyed out stay so on to the next adventure

Thursday June 7th We left the park of the Sierras and headed for Petaluma Elks Lodge but we were side tracked with a blown serpentine belt about 34 miles from Petaluma we were lucky enough to be right by a pull off away from the heavy traffic. 3 hours later our tow truck arrived after contacting our road side assistance for some reason they sent a truck from Sacramento an hour and a half away where as San Francisco was only 34 miles away oh well I didn’t have to pay for it. Anyway we spent the night at the repair shop and the next day they had us back together enough to get to the Elks Lodge while they ordered parts to replace radiator hose and Alternator.

While waiting for parts we have visited wine country Sonoma and Napa, San Francisco for some great seafood at the Fog House on pier 39, a trip to Ghirardelli for some chocolate, and a boat ride around the harbor under the golden gate bridge and around Alcatraz the rock. The trip home was slow bumper to bumper most of the trip but we made it as always.

We visited Bodega Bay on the coast had some great clam chowder at Spuds, watched the waves crash in while having a glass of wine and some Brie cheese and a 2 mile walk along the beach another great day.

Thursday we took the MH back in for the repairs needed and were back home before noon a little lighter in the wallet but the Home is well again so Sunday we will move on up the coast hopefully no more problems.
