the mountain scenery on the way to Korinthia was fabulous ....

..... with great towns and villages to visit ....

..... and always someone to welcome you

some roadside structures were a little on the unusual side ....

..... but generally it was a pretty landscape .....

...... often with huge boulders which came in handy

the ruins of Ancient Korinthia were spectacular .....

..... with many amazing buildings still in reasonable condition

Ancient Korinthia was a great backdrop for dinner

the Korinthia Canal was brilliant

modern Corinth had many interesting statues .....

...... and a very pretty harbour

when Gayle has a cup of tea its a BIG one

Mountain scenery dominated the drive to Korinthia and Gilli did most of it so we were in good hands. She handled the 4WD so well that we all laid back and appreciated the beautiful landscapes. Hopefully she'll do more.

Ancient Korinthia was right on our doorstep so our hotel location could not have been better. A twilight dinner overlooking the old ruins was a bonus although cats were a distraction.

The modern town was quite large with a very pretty waterfront so a coffee stop was appropriate. Now with a good caffeine hit it was decided to investigate the town's ancient harbour so we set off following the 'signs'.

Sadly we ended up on a gravel track that led nowhere. Not all that unusual really.
