Portage Glacier

Free Camping

New growth makes a cross

We are parked in a gravel pull out overlooking Moose Lake in the Chugach National Forest at Portage Glacier. It is wonderful to pay $0.0 for camping and to have a view of a glacier. Today we drove a total of 10 miles. Our sight seeing for today was a 1 hour cruise on the "lake" below Portage Glacier. The weather cooperated and we had nice views of the glacier. At our camping site tonight, the couple parked in front of us were from Conroe, TX and another couple were driving a Chevy truck that had been purchased in Huntsville, TX. For tomorrow, our last night on the road, we will camp at Williwaw CG, which is just across the road from where we are staying.
