Alaska 2018 travel blog

Down day. Weather in Valdez was low clouds, fog, drizzle, and rain – Again. We had a slow start to our morning and took a short walk in between showers to visit a local coffee shop and the grocery. Back in the RV, it was relaxing, watching some TV, and reading. Mid-afternoon, the clouds lifted and we took a scenic walk up to the overlook behind the convention center and had a nice chat with a couple from Maine. Back at the RV we decided it was time for chores and did some laundry. Dinner was left overs and we ate while it rained yet again. We enjoyed watching 3 guys pitch a tent in the site next to us. They tried to rig an extra rain fly out of a tarp, but the winds made quick work of their initial efforts. Later they got it right and had their tent protected from the overnight rain – again. It is nice to be in an RV and not be worried about staying warm and dry in a tent.
