|Chicken (Alaska that is). After a good sleep, we enjoyed a late start and made the drive along the Taylor Highway from Tetlin Junction to Chicken, AK. Gold mining and tourists are why Chicken exists - no municipal water, power, or sewer. Along the way we saw 4 rabbits, and 2 moose. At Chicken we explored, had a very good burger for lunch, and took the obligatory tourist photos of the chickens. We also drove about 3 miles on the Top of the World Highway, just to be able to say we had been there. Roundtrip on the Taylor Highway was 133 miles - we only saw about 10 vehicles all day. To end the day, we drove to a small state campground just south of Tok. Except for the mosquitoes, the campground was empty except for our rig and one trailer.
