The city of Tamworth, the heart of the Northern Tablelands, from Oxley...

It’s all about stock and stud in the Tablelands...and oh yes, waterfalls.

After the Hunter Valley, our first stop was the ‘Graze’ restaurant at the one-horse town of Willow Tree to sample their award-winning steak. We then moved on to Tamworth, home of Australian country music, cowboys and cowgirls. Herds of stock are everywhere in the Tablelands. We even saw sheep with coats; to protect their precious ‘Merino’ wool from bush, berries and burrs, or so we were told. Appropriately, we camped one night on a showground. We returned to the coast via Waterfall Way, a stunning drive through this section of the Great Dividing Range.
