The campervan is fully self-contained. It has a mini-kitchen, shower and loo. Most of the time we ‘wild camp’. National Parks are often well set up for this, providing ‘dry loos’ and firepits. Some towns are ‘RV (Recreational Vehicle) friendly’ and have a designated spot where we can park, often for free. We’ve camped in rest areas, next to railway tracks, next to a cricket ground and in Orange, on a ‘showground’. About once a week we go to a ‘proper’ campsite to refill, recharge and do laundry.

In terms of roles, we both know our place: Steve does the driving, fills the van with water, empties the grey and black water and makes fire. Marianne does the shopping, cooking, cleaning and co-navigates with Tom-Tom!
