WOOD PILES FROM FOREST THINING OPERATION

Most of the day we were on or near the Grand Canyon rim looking, taking pictures, riding buses, and talking to people. Since the last time we were here, the park has obtained buses that are free, keep down traffic congestion, and make it a breeze for tourists to get around. And as they run on natural gas, they are not smelly.

You can board one of four routes, get off anywhere you like, and another will be along in 10 or 15 minutes to take you to the next stop or wherever it is heading. Made for a very pleasant day. And lunch at El Tovar Lodge didn't hurt either.

When we got too tired to wait for more buses or take more pictures, we came back to the RV and spent a lazy afternoon. It was really cold and windy all day, and one of the people helping to get folks on and off the bus said it was supposed to snow a bit tonight--around 3 or 4 inches.
