|Storm last night but no real rain. Under cloudy skies we set off early, heading north to the Qld border. Through more small farming communities of Ashford and Bonshaw in NSW before crossing the border at Texas, a small town of 900 people right on the border. Had a quick look around before continuing to Inglewood where we had morning tea at the bakery. Mum remembers this town with Nonno when she was a child - there were family friends here then. Further north was the slightly larger town of Milmerran on the downs country before passing through Cecil Plains and stopping for fuel and lunch at Dalby.
The 2nd half of today's journey took us from Dalby through Jandowae and then a 2 hour drive over some of the worst roads we have encountered (and some of the best) on the back way to Mundubbera where we turned and headed up the Burnett Highway through Eidsvold to Monto.
Decided to stay in the lovely little van park in Monto. Very friendly hosts.
