Fortune of War-Sydney's Oldest Pub

Had to have a pint in the Fortune of War

October 22 2017- We had a full day in Sydney, so we got the Hop on Hop off bus and toured the sights until we got off at Bondi Beach. Our goal was the Bondi Beach Club for lunch, but when we got there it was plain that without reservations we could not get in. So we walked around it, took pictures, and then found another beach side restaurant that was delicious. Up to this point it had been a beautiful day, but when we finished our lunch the skies opened. We were about as far away from our hotel as we could be on the Hop On/Hop Off, and there was no room for us in the covered portion of the bus, so we endured the rain and the spray for about an hour until we got back to near our hotel.

As we were coming back, I noticed the Fortune of War pub, which claims to be the oldest pub in Sydney. I think there are other pubs who make the same claim, but I tried this one out and found it friendly and historic. And just down the street from our hotel.

We opted to take advantage of our Executive Level privileges and just ate in the lounge. We were so wet and tired that we just headed on to bed.
