Yesterday I was lucky enough to spend a day in the Abel Tasman National Park. I got a bus from Nelson early in the morning and took a boat to bark bay. I met a lovely jnr dr from Scotland on the boat and together we walked from bark bay to Anchorage, a 4 hr walk with some beautiful sights and bays along the way. Abel Tasman has golden sands and turquoise waters, almost felt like being back on one of the cook islands. Was so lucky with the weather too after an extremely stormy night in Nelson which made my room at Fellworth House shake!

After an hour soaking up the sun at Anchorage Bay we caught the boat back to Kaiteriteri and the bus back to Nelson. A whistlestop look at the park but we'll worth it! Next stop, Greymouth to catch the transalpine railway to Christchurch!
