On October 26, John & I will be taking off to spend three weeks in southern Italy. We'll fly from Traverse City to Detroit, and then on to Rome. Our friends Jocelyn and Milda will be joining us on this adventure. Last winter we decided to register for a Road Scholar hiking trip in Western Sicily, which begins when we meet the group on November 2. Here is a link to a description of that part of our journey: https://www.roadscholar.org/find-an-adventure/21681/a-walk-in-the-sun-hiking-western-sicily-s-coastal-paths-and-turquoise-seas
We figured that since we had to fly via Rome, we might as well do a week of touring beforehand, utilizing Audley Travel, the same company that planned our trip to Africa in 2016. We'll spend three nights in Rome, three more in Naples and one in Palermo, sometimes with a private guide and sometimes on our own. So we should be fully acclimatized to both the time and weather changes by the time we join the hiking tour. Packing awaits!
