2017 New Zealand travel blog

October 14, 2017

This is the penultimate report to our NZ travels.

Beautiful morning for travel to Auckland. We are ready to be home. Check out with Britz was no problem although they could not explain a $140 differential between their interisland ferry price and Top 10. We think they charged us for a much larger rig. Need to deal with customer service!!

Bus to the airport was easy and relatively easy check in through customs although my titanium hips always a cause. NZ guys were most considerate and polite!

Airport lounge in Auckland for 6 hours and 12 hours to SF.

We are not able to get power in our small neighborhood despite power all around us. PGE says we are in a fire zone and low priority, Rayne Dessayer gave us access to her power to charge our essentials. THANK YOU! If we are not in danger we will try to stay at the house, pack up our car with essentials should we need to evacuate immediately.. Funny we think we are disaster recovery prone given our EQ experience with “to go” bags in the house etc. When you are not there and without electricity it is a totally different scenario we did not contemplate.
