Last day today.
Went for a walk into the National Park to the Falls. Did quite a few kilometers in very hot conditions but it was definately worth it. Even though we are here in the dry season and only about 10% of the water was flowing it was still spectacular. Apparently in the wet season when there is full flow you can't see anything because of the mist and you have to wear a raincoat. We got wet in the main sectjon only. I'm sure my photos won't do it justice.
On the way back we went to the Lookout Cafe which is right on the edge of the gorge and we watched some people do the Bridge Swing. This is sort of cross between zip lining and bungy jumping. 2 people are harnessed together, jump off a platform at tbe top of the gorge, freefall like a bungy then instead of bouncing up and down, it swings across the gorge. Looks like fun.... i would have done it but Garry passed on this one. Oh well, I enjoyed watching and sipping on my mango/mint gin and tonic.
Back to the hotel to rest then off to the pool to rest some more. Tough life.
Changed into something more appropriate to sit on the Stanley Terrace for a drink before walking into town for a quick shop and some dinner. We needed to buy some type of bag to carry the stone giraffe statue we purchased. We went back to see Makoni and found a cloth tourist type shopping bag and purchased it with Garry's old joggers. Bargain.
Home to pack for our journey home tomorrow. Arrive home Saturday afternoon. Had a fantastic holiday now back home to reality. Missing everyone lots.
Signing off now... hope you enjoyed my ramblings!
