St Basil's Cathedral

Gorky Park

Walked to Red Square to join the queue for Lenin’s Mausoleum before it opened (no photos allowed). I’m really not sure it was worth the wait. We then entered The Kremlin for a tour including The Armoury where we saw some Faberge Eggs which were exquisite. There was an awful lot of standing without moving, which was pretty tiring. In the afternoon we had some free time so returned to St Basil’s and then walked to the river, hoping to do a river cruise along the Moscow River. However at the ferry terminal, the next ferry left at 1700hrs and the cruise lasted for 2 hours, so we didn’t have enough time as we had a train to catch. Caught the Metro to Gorky Park for a quick look, before making our way back to the hotel to collect luggage before heading to the station to catch our last overnight train to Novogorod
