Storms River

Bird park

Packed and left our airbnb and went to a magnifique french bakery for breakfast. La Forneil Bakery in Plettenberg Bay. Very rustic and very french. Filled up with a big brekkie so we can skip lunch. Garry had eggs bacon, toast with homemade butter and i had the yummiest porridge of mixed grains, pecans, maple syrup and yoghurt, finished off with delicious chocacino and hot chocolate. Browsed a few shops then hit the road.

Wet weather today so mostly driving. Went back a short way to Knysna as we didnt get to stop here yesterday as we were rushing to get to the skydiving. Drove up to the Knysna Heads where the Indian Ocean comes in. Amazing scenery from the lookout. Drove back down the mountain via some very steep narrow roads, past very expensive homes built into the side of the mountain.

Next stop, Monkeyland and the Bird Sanctuary. Monkeyland was a bit disappointing .....because of the rain most of the monkeys were up in the trees. The bird sanctuary was excellent, lots of birds obviously, but also the park itself was amazing, with the longest swing bridge in SA.

Back on the road to Storms River. We were going to stop at the river to watch the bungy jumping buf the bridge area was barely visible due to fog and low cloud so keep going to our next accommodation at Storms River Lodge. Arrived here to be greeted at the car by a large Doberman! 𯘞 He seemed friendly so we got out. Turns out he was still a pup and just wanted to play. Finally got inside, freshened up, had a drink on the verandah, while chatting to a couple of older ladies from USA travelling together.

Off to dinner for a very disappointing meal I won't even describe. So bad I refused to pay for it. Oh well, I'm sure I won't fade away. Home to bed.... we have a long drive tomorrow.
