Terry and I drove into Calgary staying near the airport but walking distance to the Ctrain. We took the Ctrain downtown for our last night. Enjoyed a few happy hour wines on Stephen Avenue Walk, recommended on TripAdvisor as a happening place, watching the passing crowd. Highly recommended.

Next morning bright and early we drove to the airport for Terry to take a plane and me to meet up with my friend Crystall who lives very near Calgary in a small town called Okotoks. Crystall and I met on the Peace Walk in 2015.

The three days we have spent together have gone very quickly.

The first day we picked up another Peacewalker, Becky who lives in Calgary and headed up to Lake Louise to walk up to the tea room. It is about 9 k return. Walking around the lake and then up. Beautiful walk. We had sun, thunder, wind and rain! Gave me a chance to try out my new poncho! Worked well. Passed all sorts of very cold people in shorts and tshirts. Brrrrrr! I did manipulate a few photos to put red arrows and put on the Peacewalker Facebook page! Red arrows was what we followed.

Next day I went to work with Crystall and she treated me to a massage with Connie. Then Crystall 's partner Jared,a doctor of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture gave me a wonderful acupuncture treatment. Jared and Crystall run the Healing Elements Acupuncture Centre in Okotoks. It was such a treat.

Next day was a local market, burritos at Motoburrito which is also a hang out for motorcycle riders….see workshop in the back! Love the skull chairs. Finally a tasting at the Eau Claire Distillery. Vodka and gin!

I am exhausted just describing it all.

We introduced Tulip to Chili, ate French toast with two of Crystall’s children and now I am at the Ramada downtown Calgary ready to start my hiking trip at 7am tomorrow morning!
