Church anyone? Lanark

Sunday: it was a day to do some housework for me and Mel was determined to get that satellite working and he did! It was a good thing I got some cleaning done as we had company! Yes, no matter where we go we like to host! Mel's cousin Gloria and her hubby Jim made a detour on their way from camping back to Ottawa to see us. Jim could not indulge in an alcoholic beverage as he takes his driving duties very seriously. However, Gloria and I drank red wine that we bought in the Ottawa area with them last year. Pretty cool!

Monday: it started out promising but as I am writing it is raining again! At least it waited until we completed out exploring today. Last day in the area so we checked out the Catholic Church and lit a candle for Mel's Mom, Dad and brother Larry. The boy can choose not to go to church but you just don't take the church out of boy! We spent quite a bit of time walking around Stewart Park and the neighbourhood around it taking pictures. Mel did no driving yesterday so he must have been going through withdrawal so we headed to Hwy 511 toward Lanark and beyond. Then Hwy 8/12 and back to 511. We stopped at Balderson to check out the cheese etc. And Mel could not resist another ice cream. I held out for the beer tasting and bought three different kinds of ale from the Perth Brewery.

The campground has not been buys but we did have seasonal campers beside us. Wally and Nicole left a note on our doorstep saying they were sorry that they didn't have a chance to say good-bye but they always go home to Ottawa on Mondays. Awwww...can you believe how quickly we made a connection? This is what travelling across the country is all about!
