Where in the world are Wayne and Donna heading now travel blog

While we were on the ferry to PEI the other day Donna stopped by the Tourist Info Kiosk and the very kind lady gave us free theatre tickets to a play in Charlottetown. So we parted company with Betty & Rudi as they continued north from Souris and we headed south into the big city. It was a lovely drive through more pretty farmland and before long we were set up at an almost empty RV park just 10k to beach and 15k to Charlottetown.

Donna had hurt her back in a fall off a balance ball on 17 July at the YMCA in Stephenville, NFLD and after almost a week of not sleeping even she agreed it might be time to see a doctor as the pain was not going away. We spent 2 hours in emergency Sunday afternoon and after an ultrasound confirmed no internal bleeding or fluid build-up we came away with a prescription for some real pain meds at last. The doctor confirmed that one or more ribs were either cracked or fractured so she is not happy about having to take it easy. At least now she can at least get some sleep to help with healing.

A quick search online (Erin would be proud) revealed the Spicy Hut, a newish restaurant serving Indian food and getting rave reviews. It turns out the reviews were deserved as we enjoyed a delicious meal while watching our waitress serve the entire restaurant singlehandedly. She was the model of efficiency never stopping as she took orders and served food and even cleaned tables with a smile on her face, keeping all her diners happy. Wow!!!

The downtown traffic was light and we were able to park just a couple of blocks from the theatre so enjoyed a stroll around this marvelous downtown before our show. The performance was first rate and with our front row seats we had a great evening. We emerged onto the street just in time to watch a video with music shown on the side of a huge building. It was in honor of Canada 150 so depicted all regions of Canada over the years with important people and events. Very moving and the plaza was jammed with folks standing and watching. What a great end the day.
