Antique Tractors

When we visited it was their semi-annual show. We watched a parade with lots of old and some not so old gas & steam driven vehicles. We enjoyed walking around and see all the exhibits, there was so much to see you would have to spend at least three days exploring if you wanted to see all the various exhibits.

The Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum has many exhibits

1. Antique Gas & Steam engines - Many of the earliest applications of the internal combustion engine were stationary power plants used in farming and industry. By the early 1900’s horsepower began replacing horse power on the farm and in construction. The museum hosts an extensive collection of kerosene, gasoline and diesel tractors covering the era of early experimentation in mobile power through the hey-day of the mechanized family farm in the 1950’s.

2. Palomar Weavers Guild - The Weavers Barn at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum is a 4,000 square foot facility where we house and use over 50 looms as well as many of the related tools needed to turn fiber into cloth, including spinning wheels and carders, warping boards and swifts, and bobbin winders and shuttles. We are a working museum with more than 95% of our exhibits operational.

3. Blacksmithing - The Vista Forge at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum offers classes in blacksmithing at several skill levels, providing the opportunity to try an ancient craft, make useful and decorative pieces, and learn classic techniques of both tool making and architectural ironwork.
