Wild Alaska travel blog

No internet last couple of days. Went to Gates of the Arctic and learned that there are trees on the tundra--the ARCTIC tundra. Spruce and birch and willow. Open spaces aren't grassy but very spongy like moss. LOTS of rivers here--we floated down one. Kobuk Valley -- visited by less than 2000 per year had sand dunes where we landed our plane. On to the biggest park next--Wrangell-St Elias--13 million acres.
