Two night stay at this nice little city park campground in Aberdeen, SD

After several nights of stormy weather Nancy decided she could not take it any longer.

This morning we packed up and departed early. I called ahead to our next scheduled stop to see if we could get in early but there was no room at the Inn. We called Wylie Campground in Aberdeen and same story. Apparently this is a busy weekend for campers. The agent at Wylie's suggested this campground but cautioned that it is a first come - first serve campground. Being already on the road we decided to take a chance.

Our route today took us east on Hwy 12. We arrived in Aberdeen at noon and were on a site in the Melgaard Campground by 12:15 P.M. It is a self registration system and we picked a site on the end and I even scabbed a neighboring 50 amp. outlet to plug into, at least until another camper to takes the space. Not a huge issue for us, we've been on 30 amp. service for the past several days without issue.

The setting is very pleasant. We are under some shade trees, have a picnic table and the park restrooms are close by.

I was even able to run a hose from the water source to fill up our fresh water tank. I think we will survive.

More later.......

It rained overnight but no storm.
