Tuesday 6 June

Left Athens at midday after completing some provisioning. Headed for Aegina – attempted anchoring on the south west side but the holding was absolutely awful – we just couldn’t dig the anchor in. So headed for the mainland and anchored off Epidavros. Very nice spot and good holding.

Wednesday 7 June

Went ashore in the afternoon and found a lovely little taverna and had a beer and grilled squid all for 10 Euro’s – unexpectedly cheap - we found Athens extremely expensive especially with the horrible exchange rate.

Thursday 8 June

In the morning took a taxi to Ancient Epidavros. Fantastic amphitheater and the ruins of the ancient sanctuary were well worth exploring.

Got back and headed for Poros. Anchored in a bay not far from Poros.

Friday 9 June

We moved closer to Poros and wandered around the town. The views from the clock tower are just lovely. The anchorage was a little wobbly with all the ferries and hydrofoils zooming passed.

Checked the election results – what a mess – it is definitely giving us food for thought about the next couple of years.
