Ron 'n Jan's two week escape from de-cluttering travel blog

still repairing roads following the devastating floods

Wed 17th May

After a catchup in the morning with the owner Jan Olsen we left our lovely stay at 18 Mile and headed off towards the coast via Kyogle and Murwillumbah. We don’t remember ever driving a whole day and spending almost the entire time navigating steep, twisting, winding, narrow roads from start to finish of trip. Glad we don't suffer from car sickness. We were staggered at the amount of creek damage we saw on our way down the valley to Murwillumbah. This was caused by that huge rain event that gravitated from the cyclone in Qld all the way down through Qld into northern NSW.

After being unable to easily find a c'van park in Bogangar we continued on south through Hastings Point to the Pottsville South c’van park where we have previously stayed. It is significantly warmer than when we were up in the mountain areas - but we’ll cope - life’s tuff but someone has to do it.
