Judy and Peter US and Cuba 2017 travel blog

We slept until about 9:30 so we're both feeling rested. The plan for today is to buy a ticket on the hop on hop off bus and see as much of the city as we can from the top of a bus. We don't have any great desires to visit any museums or attractions, just get an overall view of the city.

The routes took us through downtown LA, Hollywood, Belair and various other spots. Pete's big moment was when we went into Hooters for a late lunch/early dinner. I don't think either of us knew what to expect however the girls in their tiny shorts and with boobs falling out of their tops, were a welcome distraction.

We were able to complete 3 of the 4 bus routes by only getting off to change routes. There was some pretty scenery and some not so pretty. In Beverly Hills, each street has only one type of street tree....no mix and match here. We also saw a lot of poverty in various areas with people sleeping on the street or with tents along the freeways and bridges.

We went over the freeway to Hollywood and there was a sign warning it would be windy. It sure was and a good thing we held onto our hats or they would have been long gone. The bomb squad went by at one stage so that was a little bit exciting.

Once we'd done our fill of hopping on and off, we found our way back to the metro and headed home. We stopped off at the local store again for a beer and cheese and crackers again. Dining in luxury, we folks.

We need to be up early in the morning to catch our first Uber to the Greyhound bus station. We want to allow some extra time to make sure everything goes as planned.
