Foggy photo on the west coast

We spent last night in a 100yr old house next to the hostel which had no vacancy. It was kind of weird to have an entire 4 bedroom house to ourselves!

We awoke to an overcast morning so did a short drive up the coast of Golden Bay, but it was NOT a beach day.

We drove south west to the coast and down the West Coast Trail to Pancake rocks and then on to Greymouth. Due to the earthquake on the S Island in Nov, 2016, tha main highway along the East coast is closed and will be closed for many more months. This means that everyone trying to get to the southern part of the S Island must take the very long route toward the west coast so the roads are pretty busy here.
