We'll, this hasn't worked out quite like I'd planned. Turns out that this "My Trip Journal" takes a lot of band width to send, and the routers out on safari just couldn't support it.

For the best description of our first week, check out the "4 day, lodge/treehouse safari" at Vivasafaris.com. We had a blast, saw all of the "big five", and met wonderful people. I loved seeing all the animals and being outside all the time. We got little to no sleep, but we were having too much fun to notice. We ate some traditional foods, freshly prepared for us daily. I don't remember what any of it was called, but it was good.

One of the absolute high points for me was staying in the bamboo hut by the side of the Klasserie River. For those in my generation, you may remember the Disney movie, "The Swiss Family Robinson." There was the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse at Disneyland, which was my very favorite "ride." I would go through it over and over, dreaming of life on a deserted island. We'll, that was the kind of place we stayed in. My only regret is that we were so busy hiking and seeing animals, we hardly spent any time in the heavenly hut.

I'll write more tomorrow. Right now I need to go and be social. Ugh!
