March 15, 2017 – Cruising the Coral Sea
This has been a quiet day. We attended the lecture this morning about Komodo dragons, and that is about as constructive as I’ve been. Patsy went to the needlework group.
For lunch we did a progressive tour of the ship starting in the Grand Dining Room with an escargot appetizer for each of us, soup for Patsy and a Boston lettuce salad with blue cheese for Joyce. Next we stopped by the Barrista Coffee bar and picked up some almond biscotti which we took to the Terrace Buffet. There we ate more lunch and finished with cassis sorbet with a peanut butter cookie for Joyce and the biscotti and coffee for Patsy.
The big “scandal” on this trip has been with the laundry tokens. It seems that a few folks on the 1st day bought as many as 20 tokens for the machines. So, when others, like us, wanted to get enough tokens (4) to do two loads of laundry, there were no tokens available. We were to the point that we needed to do laundry so Patsy went to the desk to see if there any tokens available. They would give her 4 if she promised to do the laundry today. We had thought we’d do it tomorrow, but with the shortage of tokens, you get them when you can and do the laundry when you can. While she was doing laundry, I worked on the blog for yesterday and today as well as editing pictures.
Dinner in the terrace was with a Greek flavor. Patsy filled up on stuffed grape leaves. I had beef kabobs and a chicken dish. For dessert I had a peanut butter cookie. Yesterday I had asked for one, but they were out at the buffet line. They tried to give me an oatmeal one, but I declared that if it wasn’t peanut butter I didn’t want it. So, the gal behind the line went down to the kitchen and brought me 3. I ate one and took the other 2 back to the cabin. Today, she made sure that I got one. I didn’t tell her that I still had the 2 from last night in the room.
