We put the dogs into kennels at house where Jayden (nephew) is living, just up the road from Kathryn’s at about 9am, then Kathryn drove Ian and I to Halls Gap in the Grampians. We then climbed to the Pinnacles, which is where most of the touristy photos are taken in the Grampians. Well, the climb was pretty strenuous (or else I need to get fitter!), and as the day was quite warm, we were quite hot by the time we got to the top. However, it was well worth the effort as the views are amazing. After the much easier and quicker walk down we drove around to the Halls Gap hotel for lunch. The air conditioning was bliss- and, after working up an appetite, the meal was pretty good too!

Next stop was Siverband Falls- we were going to go to Mackenzie Falls, but as I doubt any of us really relished the idea of another strenuous climb, the walk to Siverband Falls was the more sedate option. The falls were not much more than a trickle, but very pretty all the same.

It was then back to Macarthur to pick up dogs (they had behaved very well), have a shower then head back to Kathryn’s for a very enjoyable BBQ tea with the family.
