Off to South America - From Alaska's North to the Tip of South America travel blog

At the equator

On the 13th we crossed the equator about 6:30 in the morning. Even received a little certificate about it𯘀

That means we were at 0 degrees latitude and 65 degrees latitude away from Fairbanks.

Each day on board we enjoy two separate lectures that are an hour each. One is from a man who has traveled in South America a lot and gives great info in each country. The other is from a professor of archeology who has worked for National Geographic. Both lectures are standing room only since there are 3,000 passengers on the ship. Tomorrow we land in Lima and stay port two days. There are strong advisory notices about safety and staying with a group so we are on an excursion to see an Indian market via bus tour.

All is well with us. Hope it is with you as well.
