Left early and headed north to Coober Pedy. What a drive of contrasts - salt lakes and low level ranges on the way to the Woomera turn-off and then into the red desert type country mostly to Coober Pedy. There is a small township called Glendambo about half way where we had to fill up again due to the high head winds we experienced. It was only 540kms but we averaged over 16l/100km instead of 11 or 12.
We had lunch here and then headed on to Coober Pedy - about 50kms out you see the little domes of the mines everywhere. Arrived at our destination and had a quick trip up the main street (not that there is one). It is literally 'streets'everywhere and mines and houses in the hills everywhere as well. A bit like NT - there are sad sights of aboriginals everywhere as well.
Headed over to our caravan park for the evening and 20c showers.
