DAVE & REBECCA'S BIG ADVENTURE travel blog

We arrive at our RV Park, we'll be here for 6 days...

We're immediately welcomed by Marty Moose

Our space is way on the left side of the map in...

shortly after setting up we're greeted and hounded for seeds or nuts

by about 4 or 5 little beggars

cute, huh! But that's why Dave always has a bag of unsalted...

This drive was another nice short drive of only 136 mile directly north. The Lake George Escape Resort is on the edge of the Adirondacks. We've wanted to come here for years, finally we're here. This stay is only for 6 days so we have to be efficient with our time and see the highlights. At his point, I'm sure we'll want to come back at a later date for a much longer tour.

The RV park itself is an amazing place. It has 683 spaces, ponds and is next to the Schroon River! When we checked-in, they assigned us to a space, way far away from all the activity places like the pool, mini-golf and such. That's ok with us as, we generally like the quiet. The park has the areas or sections color coded with cute names, like our is Peggy Pig, and is purple on the map! You'll see a picture of the map with the list of the names, cute!

While here we want to tour Fort Ticonderoga and drive along the shoreline of Lake George. Then, another day we'll drive into and around the Adirondack State Park of NY. For the last two weeks it's been getting cool here at the northern latitude and the leaves are beginning to change. The night time temps are in the high 40's and low 50's. We've also noticed some geese heading out, we should be thinking of doing the same. Actually, we are going to head south when this 6 days are up. We'll be dropping faster than usual. See our itinerary on the front page. The next several stops are only 3 or 4 days each, until we get to Pointes West Army Resort near Augusta, GA.
