Tuesday 13th Sept - from Lake Keepit to Gulgong

Bit of a waste watching Ch7 to see Keperra Sanctuary - they got about 3mins exposure each half hour. We think Jim was smart - didn’t see him - he must have stayed in bed. Disappointed to be leaving Lake Keepit, we have had such a relaxing time here. We are expecting to have rain over the next few days as another rain front comes across from Sth Aus. The poor people in Vic and the southern parts of NSW had floods a couple of weeks back and now they are being told to expect more flooding. Morning tea was at Mullaley and we can see the pools still lying around from that big wet last Friday. On past lush canola fields, and paddocks so green, in places the grass half buried the sheep or cattle grazing. (Interesting, cos sheep don’t like long grass!!!). The sun has been out most of the day so it has been a very pleasant drive. We had a quick stop at the “black stump” but didn’t stay as most of the area was taken up by 5 Jayco vans heading south to Temora and Canberra.

Lunch was at Coolah and then onwards for another hour to the Gulgong Showgrounds. Hot showers, water and power for $16/night - good value. We want to have a look at the town so will stay for two nights. Tried tuning our TV on arrival but to no success. Tried all sorts of combinations but to no avail EXCEPT, it would work in RonPs van but that was no help to Ron 'n Jan. RonP suggested we pray about it so we dutifully did that but when we tried to tune it again - no success. Ah well we can add that to the breadbox - microwave saga.
