Whittier inlet

Whales carving

3 mile hike

Karen was trying to find a church for services this morning but without the internet or phone service making connections is pretty hard. We drove around a long way out of our way before she got to talk to someone to find out we were headed the wrong direction. Ha. We got turned around and back to the tunnel at Whittier for the wait to go through. This is a one lane tunnel with both directions of traffic of both highway vehicles and rail road traffic using it. So you have to take turns. Made it to church on time. We found a nice little seafood restaurant for lunch, halibut and shrimp.

The scenery surrounding the town is beautiful, with several glaciers and dozens of waterfalls. If you can zoom in on that first photo you will see them.

Karen liked this carving of the whales and a nice gent took this picture for us.

After we got back to the Williwaw campground we took a hike around some of the park and ended up with about 3 miles traveled.
