Alaska 2016 travel blog

We departed Valdez on Thurs am heading to Palmer area. Our friends from CA, Henry & Veronica invited us to be their guests at the Elks Club campground in Palmer/Wasilla for the 4th of July weekend. We traveled back up to Glenallen, then over to Palmer, a big day of 261 miles!! Along the way, we visited with some people from Isanti MN (only about 20 miles from our home in MN) at one of the scenic pull-outs. We arrived at the Elks club about 5 pm and immediately headed into the Elks Club to get registered to camp, and of course have a beer!! We didn't take to time to level & get the camper set up before heading to the bar, and of course while we were there the skies opened up and it rained for several hours. we finally got the camper hooked up and settled in for a nice 5 night stay. Lots to do and see in and around Palmer/Wasilla, and also good shopping!! We did not take any pictures on this travel day, I guess we were too focused on getting to Palmer, and our "big miles day", LOL!!
