I got up early and fried up some bacon for breakfast, Karen had her usual bacon and cheese omlet and I had 3 over medium, all set for the day. We set sail at 10:30 with high hopes in pursuit of the elusive whale. The whale won again. We started out with a drizzling rain and it pretty much rained the whole 7 hours of the tour.
It was a beautiful trip even with the overcast and I imagine on a sunny day it would only be better. We saw seals, otters, porpoises and such but no whales.
The captain took us up to within 2 miles of the glacier (actually 4 glaciers) which was breathtaking as he zig-zagged around the small and not so small icebergs. They fed us soup or chowder and both were very good. We enjoyed the trip but of course were disappointed about not seeing whales again.
