Arrived in Homer just before 10 am and we were there until 6 pm. The weather was overcast, cool but not freezing. Temperature around 59 degrees.HAL provides a free shuttle to what is called the Spit which was formed by a glacier pushing a five mile gravel bar when it retreated. It is full of small gift shops and small bars. One of them is called the Salty Dog Saloon, another one of those must see sites. At the Salty Dog Saloon, you need to sign a $1 and pin it to the wall....which of course we did along with having a refreshment while watching the locals gather along with many tourists. The shops were cute, but not really much to do unless you take an excursion to whale watch or bird watch. Tonight Lance Ringnald a former Olympian of Gymnastics is performing. We have seen him twice, three times will be a charm! Spoke with him for awhile as he remember us from former cruises. He hope to develop a new show for the World Cruise. He is still single and still looks pretty good. I guess he really needs to be as he can still do an iron cross! It was fun catching up with him and his travels.
