back in Uyuni

This morning is a very early start we are up at 5:00am a bit of breakfast and load up the 4x4's and are on the road by 5:30 and it very cold and dark, LOL. We are now at 4900 m (15,680 ft) and there is snow in drifts on the road as it begins to get light we can see areas of more snow our first stop for the day is at the Sol de Manana geyser basin at 4950m it has hot stream coming out of the ground and boiling pots of mud. Here we see the sun rise with the early morning sun coming through the stream. Then off to the Termas de Polques a hot springs, a bit of changing people in the 4x4's as Ben one of the people in my car heads off to the Chilean border. The rest of our group head to Laguna Verda (the green lake) at 5000m with the Volcan Licancabur behind the lake topping out at 5930m, Then it is back to the hot springs for a nice dip in it, when we were there earlier was very crowded as all the other tour groups was there, now there were only a small group of people in the hot springs very nice and the outside air is also a bit warmer, LOL. Now we are back in our 4x4s heading back toward Uyuni, checking out a few more rock formations and a stop for lunch we head to Uyuni getting into town at 5:30 dropping off my fellow travelers and me back to my hotel for a nice hot shower and a change of clothes. Out for some dinner and a couple beers then back to my room and bed, has been a great trip traveling through the salt flats and the Andean desert.
