|Decided to stay another day as site so beautiful and quiet and peaceful, also a beautiful day. After breakfast we took Ruby and Chilli for a walk along the river, and they had a ball running in and out of the bush and the river. Back at camp we discovered there were turtles in the river. They were really cute and obviously well used to people feeding them. There were lots of little fish as well and they also devoured bits of bread. We saw bigger fish jumping out of the water at times and lots of bird life including a kingfisher that sat in the tree beside us for ages, a white faced heron that kept walking up and down the river banks, a pair of falcons overhead, and galahs that came down to the water to drink.
We took the dogs for another walk in the afternoon, then were invited to join some new arrivals to happy hour. They had built a fire, so of course we joined them and had a very enoyable evening! Turns out they were from Wamuran, a whole hours drive from Samford!
Tea tonight was pumkin soup made from pumkin from Lochenbar station.
