The Meandering Moose - India 2016 travel blog

A picture is worth a thousand words..

Flower vendors at the bazaar

Some local traffic get the idea. I'll spare you the details, but basically, we slept for 18 out of 24 hours, and nothing brings two people closer than tandem food poisoning and one bathroom.

Luckily, we were well enough on the first day to hit the bazaar, where we had to keep reminding ourselves "we only have one backpack each". I love bazaars, and could wander around in them forever.

Unless you have the infamous Delhi Belly, of course. In that case, you stay huddled up in your hostel room, which is right above a busy intersection so it constantly sounds like a symphony orchestra is tuning up. You drag your sorry butt out twice a day for a plate of rice and peas, and you shrug it off because it was only a matter of time.

In a few hours, we board a train to Jaisalmer, a fort city in the middle of the Thar desert. The trip will take us 12 hours by train, so I hope it's not late this time!
