John&Patti's wonderful adventure travel blog

Travelling from the valley floor to about 6500 ft... SNOW!!

First look at General Sherman... largest living thing

Patti gives the thing some perspective

Not as tall as the coastal redwoods... larger trunk diameter

The obligatory selfie

Time to start our migration to warmer climates. We stayed a couple of days in Tulare, CA. Pretty nice during the day (60s) but fairly chilly at night (30s). We traveled uphill from there to the Sequoia National Park. With twisting mountain roads, we decided to forgo the Kings Canyon part of the park. For some reason we both thought that these were more impressive than the Redwoods we saw on the coast in northern CA.

Next stop: The Palm Springs desert!
