Port Royal National Historic Site

Port Royal National Historic Site, reconstructed by ex-boat builders

The blacksmith's room

One of the kitchen areas

The feast room

The main table in front of a spectacular fire place

Myself seated at the main table

A replica of an old wood lathe

I couldn't get over the intricacy of the woodwork, built by ex-boat...

Beautiful mortise and tenon construction

A beautiful cabinet in one of the officers rooms

A bald eagle was being harassed by a group of ravens

We stopped in at Port Royal National Historic site near Annapolis. The original habitation burned, however the reconstructed site was built by retired ship builders. The mortise and tenon work is second to none, and the whole area is beautiful and rich with history and culture.
