I had visited the Bulow Plantation Ruins park back in 2008 when I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in Bunnell and knew the RV resort was there. Because I couldn't get in to any of the state parks from Fort Clinch down to Jonathan Dickinson over the weekend (I don't do well making advance reservations), I decided to stay here.
Well, first impressions aren't so great. I got a "premium" spot under a great tree with spanish moss hanging down so it doesn't look like it's really a pull through spot, the water spigot didn't work until a maintenance worker came to fix it, and I don't get GPS coordinates or TV because I am under the tree. Not to complain, but if I spend almost $100 for two nights of camping (and that's with a 10% discount!) I expect a good site with amenities! I spent that much for camping at the Outer Banks for 4 nights!! Oh - they also do not have laundry facilities! They have a pool but they also have over 100 boy scouts camping here this weekend.
