Thursday morning we packed up and came across the mountains. We came to Plymouth for a Blue Cross Reunion at Helwig Winery. This was spearheaded by Tom, Susan Reed and Dave Helwig and has been in the planning for well over a year. About 30 people attended. The Helwig crew did a fantastic job setting the event up, feeding and managing this rowdy group! Thank You!

4 rigs stayed at 49er village, us along with Carl Kirnon and Diane Watern, Mike Framberger, and Mary and John Lovell. It was nice to get some extra time with these people since we were all staying in the same “yard” so to speak! We hadn’t seen Mary for over 15 years!

The event was Friday night and we had dinner in the Cave underneath the Winery, really nice and it was great to see everyone who was there. Those that stayed retired to the Pavilion to enjoy the latter part of the evening outside tipping some final toasts and enjoying each others company. This group went through a lot together and had a good time reminiscing and catching up! Several people asked when the next one would occur!

On Saturday some of us came back to Helwig for the yearly Round Up Party (celebrating their Round Up Red and Round Up White wines), the weather was great and we had a great time as usual. The Cripple Creek Band does not disappoint! Dave Helwig was concerned about the turnout and even said he was contemplating this being the last Round Up Party since there were only 38 tickets sold 10 days prior to the event. They were stunned to have over 450 people show up - about 100 more than last year! Hard to plan for those type of things but in true Helwig style, it came off very smoothly.
